My great grandfather Samuel Antinpoika Äijö (b 18 SEP 1864) seems to have left Kauhajoki for Kristiinastad in late 1880s for seamans training and then went to sea, eventually settling in Australia in 1890s. I don't have access to information from seaman's rooms so am wondering if anyone here is able to help? Firstly is there any info on Samuel available in the rooms records, if so what is it and is it worth joining to get it?
Thanks

Thanks for that matzi.
I had a look but think these are digital copies of ships records but no seaman's details.
I understood that the rooms [Merimieshuoneet] kept comprehensive registers of individual sailors and was hoping someone here may have access to the digital versions available through the Genealogical Society of Finland.
Best wishes
