I need a verification on a birth. My Great Grandparents by the above names lived in Kuusamo. They were married in 1850 and I found a birth for what I thought was their first born child, a girl. Greta (Reeta) Liisa Maaninka b. 02 Mar 1853. Then I found a birth in Kuusamo of a daughter b. 01 May 1850 to Johan Petter Kotajärvi and Brita Caisa by the name of Greta Liisa. I have attached a Hiski record for that birth. I am confused that the mother's names are different and I know that Johan Kotajärvi at some point around his marriage to Valpuri Maaninka changed his name to Johan Kotajärvi-Maaninka with all their kids named Maaninka.
I guess I need a verification of the correct birth date of Greta Liisa 1850 or 1853. And, how does Brita Caisa fit in as a wife when I have Valpuri as the wife of his other children? Johan was living on the Maaninka farm when he married Valpuri and it was where they had their children. Johan was originally from Kemijarvi but moved to Kuusamo in 1848. Moving records verified.
Also what is the "IH" in front of the father's name.
Please help me.
Thank You
Janice

There are two Johans they are both born in Kemijärvi and i think they are relatives.
Johan Pettersson Kotajärvi b. 22 Feb 1817 his wife Walborg Maaninka and daughter Greta Lisa
b. 13 Mar 1853

Johan Petter Larsson Kotajärvi b. 14 Apr 1825 his wife Brita Caisa and daughter Greta Lisa
b. 1 May 1850

It was common that when a farm worker married a farmer's daughter and settles to live on the farm, he also began to use the name of the farm. That's why sometimes occurs Johan's last name Maaninka.
'IH' is an abbreviation of Swedish word 'inhysing' that means some kind of tenant or lodger.

Re: Births of Johan Kotärvi and Valpuri Maaninka
Thank you for your reply. No wonder I was so confused - 2 people with the same name from the same community. Probably cousins.
To make my records accurate what would be their location or address that would include the farm name and the farm number, Kuusamo, Oulu. AND, would it be possible to get a land map of the farm they lived on. My relatives would be so happy to see a copy of a map where their farm would be in the 1800's. I show my ancestors to be Johan and Valborg with Johan Petter as their first born in 1850.
Thank you again and I hope I am not being inconvenient in asking for an address (location) and a map of it.
